The only safety test that cannot be gamed

A site can buy reviews, fake a Trustpilot score, run a slick interface and still be insolvent. What it cannot fake is paying you. So the check we weight highest is a timed withdrawal with real money, run repeatedly, including at awkward hours.

The worst-run column matters more than the average. An operator with a good average and a terrible worst case is one whose payouts stall under load, and stalling under load is the first visible symptom of a liquidity problem. Sites we have not timed are not on that table. We would rather show five measured rows than twelve with guesses in them.

Verify fairness yourself, in about a minute

"Provably fair" is a claim until you check it, and checking it is genuinely easy. The system works like this: before a round the site publishes a hash of its server seed, you contribute a client seed, and after the round it reveals the server seed. Hash the revealed seed and it must match what was published beforehand. If it does, the outcome could not have been chosen after you bet.

You do not have to take anyone's word for the match, including ours. Paste the seeds into our provably fair verifier, which runs entirely in your browser, and it recomputes the hash in front of you. Any site that will not give you the three values, or whose values do not reconcile, has failed the only fairness test that means anything. Red flags, in the order they usually appear

Operators that go bad rarely do it without warning. The sequence is fairly consistent:

1. Withdrawal times drift upward. The single earliest signal. Minutes become hours, then "pending review". Nothing else on the site changes, which is why people ignore it.
2. New verification demands at withdrawal only. KYC on a large cashout is normal and legitimate. KYC that appears for the first time when you try to leave, after deposits needed nothing, is a stalling tactic.
3. Support gets slower and vaguer. Replies stop naming a timeframe.
4. An unusually generous promotion appears. Deposit-side incentives spike while the withdrawal side congeals. This is a liquidity signal, not a gift.
5. Withdrawals pause "for maintenance". By this point the money is usually gone.

Two more that are visible before you deposit at all: no published provably-fair seeds, and a site that only accepts deposits by methods you cannot reverse or dispute.

The sites we tell people to avoid, and why

We keep a blacklist with the reason attached to each entry, because "avoid this site" without a stated reason is just an opinion. Read the reason and decide for yourself whether it applies to you.

Things commonly listed as safety signals that are not

A lot of safety advice repeats criteria that do not survive contact with this industry:

• A Curacao licence. Nearly every operator in this space holds one. It sets a very low bar and offers players little practical recourse, so it does not distinguish between good and bad operators.
• Trustpilot score. Heavily gamed with incentivised reviews. Read the one-star reviews for specifics about withdrawals; ignore the aggregate.
• "24/7 support". Universally claimed and almost never tested by whoever repeats it. We do not treat it as evidence.
• A slick interface. Front-end quality costs a few thousand dollars and says nothing about whether the operator can pay you.

Is it legal where you are?

Separate question from whether an operator is trustworthy, and the answer is genuinely local. Several jurisdictions block these sites outright and some restrict them to licensed operators only. The country-by-country position is in the legal guide. Age limits of 18 or over apply everywhere this is permitted at all.

Protecting your account

• Enable two-factor authentication before your first deposit, not after a problem.
• Use a unique password. Skin gambling accounts hold transferable value, which makes them a credential-stuffing target.
• Never accept a trade or a "verify your inventory" link from someone contacting you first. Steam-side skin theft is more common than operator fraud.
• Withdraw rather than accumulate. A balance left on a site is a balance exposed to that site's solvency.

The risk that is not about the site at all

Every operator above can pay reliably and the activity can still cost you badly, because the house edge does not care how trustworthy the house is. Only stake what you can lose without it mattering, decide the amount before you open the site rather than during a session, and treat chasing a loss as the signal to stop for the day.
