CSFloat Review 2026
CSFloat is a peer-to-peer CS2 marketplace bolted onto the float database most of this game already uses. No bot holds your skin. The seller sends the item straight to the buyer on Steam and CSFloat releases the money once it verifies the trade landed. That architecture is the whole review: it makes the fees lower and the trade holds shorter, and it makes the process depend on a stranger doing something on time.
SkinsVault may earn a commission if you register through a link on this page. CSFloat carries no payout figure from us, so nothing here is a payout speed we measured. Everything below was read on CSFloat's own site on 6 August 2026.
Who Runs It
The operator is CSFloat, Inc. The terms of service, last updated 12 May 2026, put governing law in Delaware and send almost all disputes to binding individual arbitration under the JAMS Streamlined Rules, with a class action waiver stated in capitals at the top. Standard for a US technology company, and worth knowing before you deposit anything substantial.
What we could not find anywhere on the site is a street address or a registration number. The only physical address CSFloat publishes belongs to EDSR at Avenue Huart Hamoir 71, 1030 Brussels, appointed as its EU legal representative under Article 13 of the Digital Services Act. That is a real accountability channel, but it is not the operator's own registered address. No gambling licence is stated or needed, because CSFloat does not run gambling.
The money is the more useful signal. The terms state that all payments run through Stripe via Stripe Connect, that Stripe is a regulated money transmitter holding user funds in sub-ledgered accounts, and that CSFloat does not hold your funds or store your payment details. Identity checks are handled by SumSub.
What CSFloat Offers
The homepage also advertises over 1 million users, more than $100 million in sales and over $20 million in listed skins. Those are CSFloat's own counters, unaudited by us.
Peer-to-peer sales. Items move seller to buyer on Steam. The site states that only items without a current trade hold can be listed, so buyers avoid inheriting the 7-day lock.
The database. CSFloat claims over 1 billion indexed skins with float, pattern and history lookup. It is the tool most people know the brand for and it is free to use.
Auctions and bargaining. Bargaining is available on skins over $30, with the seller setting a minimum and choosing to accept, counter or decline.
Buy orders, with published price increments and limits.
Tooling, including a trade-up calculator, float checker, Loadout Lab, Chrome and Firefox extensions and a mobile app. The extension is not optional in practice: the FAQ says the extension or app sends the pings that let CSFloat confirm a trade offer's status.
Money In, Money Out
Payouts go through Stripe, in bank transfer, crypto or debit card form depending on your region. The FAQ says CSFloat pays out in over 115 currencies with automatic conversion, that the minimum is generally $5, and that timing runs from around 30 minutes for a debit card to a few business days for a bank account. Those are CSFloat's figures, not ours.
Two rules will surprise people. Only net proceeds from item sales are withdrawable, so you cannot move money through CSFloat. And sale proceeds take around 8 days to be credited, because Steam's trade protection lets trades be reversed inside that window. Sell today and the money is not in your balance until next week, before any withdrawal starts.
If you are in Norway, read this before anything else. CSFloat's FAQ states that multiple regions are not supported for payments and names Norway alongside US sanctioned countries, adding that the list is not exhaustive and can change without notice. KYC through SumSub is required for deposits by ACH or iDEAL, and support may request it for card deposits.
Fees and Pricing
CSFloat's headline is a 2% seller fee, and the FAQ confirms it: 2% of the total listing price, deducted when the item sells, rounded up to the next US cent. The terms say buyers pay no transaction fee at all. On the sale itself that is the lowest published rate here. The number left out of comparisons is the withdrawal fee, which CSFloat publishes as a volume ladder:
| Withdraw fee | Lifetime sale volume required |
|---|---|
| 2.5% | $0 |
| 2.0% | $2,500 |
| 1.5% | $10,000 |
| 1.0% | $50,000 |
| 0.5% | $100,000 |
So a first-time seller pays 2% to sell and 2.5% to get paid, roughly 4.5% all in, and the FAQ adds a further 0.6% to 1% conversion charge if the payout is not in USD or USDC. That still beats most of this category, but "2% fees" is not the number in your pocket. CSFloat says Stripe charges nothing beyond what the withdrawal screen shows, while your own bank might.
One gap worth flagging. The FAQ says 2%. The terms of service reserve the right to charge the seller up to 5.0% of the final sale price. We found no published circumstance where a completed sale is charged more than 2%, so read the 5% as legal headroom, not a current rate.
Fines are separate and real. A seller who leaves a sale unaccepted for over 24 hours, where the buyer then cancels, is charged 5% of the listing price. After accepting, a seller has 2 hours to send the offer and must leave it open at least 18 hours. The terms let CSFloat fine whichever side it deems at fault up to 5%, and forfeit a banned account's balance on ban evasion.
What We Have Not Verified
- Payout speed.
CSFloat carries no payout figure from us. The 30 minutes to a few days range is CSFloat's claim.
- Company address and registration number.
Neither is published anywhere we could find. The only address on the site is the EU legal representative's in Brussels.
- The full unsupported-region list.
The FAQ names Norway and sanctioned countries and says the list is not exhaustive.
- The user, sales and listing counters
on the homepage. Operator figures, unaudited by us.
- The 8-day credit hold in practice.
We did not sell an item to time it.
- Founding year.
Not stated on the site.
Who CSFloat Is Right For
People who care what they are buying. The float database, the screenshots and the bargaining flow make this the best site here for picking a specific item rather than a cheap one, and 2% to sell is genuinely category-leading. High-volume sellers benefit twice, because the withdrawal ladder rewards them. It is a poor fit if you need money quickly, because of the roughly 8-day credit hold, and it is unusable for payments in Norway.
SkinsVault Verdict
Rating: 4.6 / 5. The strongest marketplace product in this directory and the most honest about its own mechanics. It publishes the fee ladder, admits the 8-day hold, and names Stripe as the party actually holding your money. The marks against it are thin but not trivial: no company address or registration number anywhere, a terms clause allowing more than double the advertised fee, and a payment block on an entire country that a lot of our readers live in. Excellent tool, read the region list first.

FAQ CSFloat
Rédigée à partir des conditions publiées par CSFloat lui-même.
Two fees, not one. The FAQ states a 2% seller fee on the total listing price, deducted when the item sells and rounded up to the next US cent, and buyers pay nothing under the terms of service. On top of that, CSFloat charges a withdrawal fee on a volume ladder: 2.5% at zero lifetime sales volume, falling to 2.0% at $2,500, 1.5% at $10,000, 1.0% at $50,000 and 0.5% at $100,000. A first-time seller therefore pays roughly 4.5% in total, plus a stated 0.6% to 1% conversion charge if the payout is not in USD or USDC.
Steam's trade protection lets trades be reversed for several days after they complete, so CSFloat holds the proceeds until that window closes. Its FAQ states that after the buyer accepts the trade offer it takes around 8 days for the sale to be credited to the seller's CSFloat balance. Withdrawal time is on top of that, and CSFloat quotes anywhere from about 30 minutes for a debit card to a few business days for a bank transfer. We have not timed any of this ourselves.
Not for payments. CSFloat's FAQ states that multiple regions are not supported for payments and names Norway explicitly, alongside US sanctioned countries, and says the list is not exhaustive and can change at any time without notice. Check the current FAQ before assuming you can deposit or withdraw. Browsing the marketplace and using the free float database are separate from payment support.
No, and that is the main point of the peer-to-peer design. The seller sends the item directly to the buyer on Steam rather than through a bot, and CSFloat states that only items without a current trade hold can be listed. The trade-off is that the deal depends on the seller acting. After a purchase the seller must accept the sale, then has 2 hours to send the trade offer and must leave it open for at least 18 hours.
CSFloat says the trade is automatically refunded and you can buy something else or ask support to refund your original payment method where applicable. The seller is fined and warned, and repeated failures lead to account suspension. Its FAQ states that a seller who leaves a sale unaccepted for more than 24 hours, where the buyer then cancels, is charged 5% of the listing price. The terms allow a fine of up to 5% against whichever party CSFloat determines was at fault.
Stripe does. The terms of service state that all payments are processed through Stripe via Stripe Connect, that Stripe is a regulated money transmitter holding user funds in sub-ledgered accounts, and that CSFloat maintains internal balance records but does not itself hold funds or store payment details. Identity verification runs through SumSub and is required for deposits by ACH or iDEAL. The operator is named as CSFloat, Inc., with Delaware governing law, though we could not find a company address or registration number published on the site.
